Excel preferences can be set to have workbooks open with just one worksheet. In Finder, navigate to that folder and REMOVE. ![]() Change Excel Preferences: select General and set the ‘At startup, open all files in’ location to the new folder you created above.ħ. This auto-selects location (Library:Application Support:Microsoft:Office:User Templates:My Templates): you need to create a NEW folder in My Templates, and name it something like ‘my excel default template’Ħ. Click the Format: drop-down button and choose Excel Template (.xltx)ĥ. Choose File > Save As, naming it just WorkbookĤ. The article mentioned above NEARLY solved the problem - but not quite, as it resulted in Excel trying (and failing) to open my Word templates.
